Third-grade adventures – “My Awesome Trip to Costa Rica!” by Hudson

Last year, I went on a fun trip to Costa Rica. I thought the trip was very exciting, because I saw a lot of different animals. An interesting fact about Costa Rica is that they have  black sand on one of their beaches where you can go surfing, swimming, and fishing. I found Costa Rica different from Vancouver, because of the weather, landscape, the place I stayed, and the food.

An interesting fact about Costa Rica is that they have a black sand beach….

My family and I stayed in Costa Rica for five days. Our hotel was by the beach, and we would go everyday to the beach. I enjoy the beaches in Costa Rica more than the ones we have back home in Vancouver. The beaches in Costa Rica are different, because there are more waves in the ocean and the temperature is hotter. This means I can go surfing on the beaches.

During my time in Costa Rica, I went fishing, and caught a big tuna! My family and I did not eat the tuna, since I do not eat fish. I wonder what happened to the big tuna. I think the boat driver may have decided to cook it. I had fun fishing with my family, and would like to go fishing again.

When I was in Costa Rica I saw different types of animals that we do not have in Vancouver such as, sloths, lizards, hermit crab, geckos, and ligunas. Out of all the animals I saw in Costa Rica, my favourite animal was the sloth. I like sloths, because they are a bit furry, and move slowly. Sloths are a good size, because they are not too big and not too small.

I learned that there are two types of sloths, which are the three toed sloths and two toed sloths.

Overall I had a very fun time in Costa Rica, because it was so different from Vancouver. I wish I could go back to Costa Rica to detect diamonds and golds. I would bring a metal detector since I heard many people have found diamonds and golds on Costa Rica beaches. I would also go back to experience all the beaches, tropical animals, and fishing adventures again.
