Meningococcal Meningitis (A, C, Y, W-135) vaccination is a requirement for Hajj.
Visa requirements for travel to Hajj are strict and include possession of a non-refundable ticket, proof of the required immunizations and a cheque to cover the cost of accommodation.

Meningitis: All Pilgrims to Hajj are required to provide proof of vaccination with quadrivalent meningococcal vaccine (A,C,Y,W-135) given no more three years and not less than 10 days before arrival in Saudi Arabia.
For most travellers from Canada the meningitis vaccine will be the one essential vaccine for Hajj.
For travellers from certain other countries the following vaccines are also required:
Polio vaccine is required for Pilgrims coming from polio endemic countries or countries where transmission of polio has been re established (Afghanistan, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Solalia, Syria or Yemen). Proof of polio vaccine given between 1 year and 4 weeks of arrival must be shown.
Other risks to consider when you attend Hajj:
