Who’s Who at TravelSafe Clinic – Kimberley Musclow, BA MSN NP(F)
Kim is a Nurse Practitioner consultant who sees clients in our Hastings-Sunrise location. She has been working with us since 2018 and we’re thrilled to have her. She brings extensive experience and knowledge in travel health and vaccinations and we also like her efficiency.
Most Memorable trip:
While I have taken some trips to other destinations, I have to say one of my most memorable trips was my trip to Paris with my now husband. It is memorable because it was a care free vacation, just the two of us, walking the streets, exploring the museums, cafes and patisseries.
What advice would you give to travellers taking the same trip?
To avoid disappointment, I recommend booking in advance the popular museums or tourist attractions you really want to visit. Paris is a very popular destination so plan ahead with some ‘must-sees’ and the rest of the time enjoy yourself exploring the city. I recommend decent footwear you can be comfortable in all day.
With a 9 hour time change, we made sure we adjusted to local time as soon as possible. Jet lag can be difficult if you don’t adapt to the new time zone as soon as possible. We went for walks to keep alert if needed, ate meals at the local time and avoided napping because this can prolong jet lag.
What advice or help can travellers expect from you when they visit TravelSafe (and see you)?
When you see me in the clinic, I’ll be able to provide everything you require to prepare for your trip. I administer vaccines, and will give you the latest tips on how to stay healthy. As I am a Nurse Practitioner, I can also write prescriptions for you if they are required. I love travel medicine because I enjoy working in an environment that keeps me current globally. I enjoy the positive energy, the excitement of the travellers and the variety in my role.
